Green Island highlights products and companies focusing on metal’s role in the booming green building movement. Products include insulation, cool roofing, coatings, photovoltaics, process controls, software and more – all aimed at conserving energy and resources. Products in Green Island may also be Energy Star rated and/or help buildings qualify for LEED certification.

The interest in renewable energy sources has never been greater. Solar energy is especially popular today, thanks in part to the solar tax incentives, grants and rebates available to building owners. Metal roofing and wall systems are an excellent platform for solar energy technologies. SOLAR BAY showcases the benefits of metal roof and wall systems in this field.
This educational area on the show floor features full-scale mock-ups and educational forums of a variety of solar technologies that can be integrated with metal into the building envelope. Presentation topics include a) Rooftop-Mounted Solar Power Systems, b) Solar Heat Recovery Systems on Roof and Walls, c) Solar-Thermal Water Heating Technologies and d) Federal, State and Local Solar Energy Funding Incentives.
Many METALCON exhibitors who are involved in solar technologies exhibit products and participate in SOLAR BAY presentations. Attendees can learn from in-depth explanations of these systems, and by visiting with the metal roof and metal wall experts who know all about this growing and exciting market.
