1:30PM

Put the Power of Vacuum to Work for You
Installing insulated metal panels is often a time and labor consuming project that is tough on backs and tough on the bottom line.  And while the method of drilling holes and using slings is tried and true, new technologies, like below the hook vacuum lifters, are saving companies time and money. In this Learning Zone break out you’ll not only learn about the cost saving benefits to using vacuum lifters, but you’ll see how they can help expand your business by being able to diversify your workforce.

2:30 PM

More Haste, Less Waste
– AppliCad's Founder shares how taking the time to learn software to make metal roofing more competitive against other products and improve your financial return (profit) for contractor with BLOCK-CUT. How hard do they work to improve profit by just a few points. We give them 7-10% extra for free! Block-Cut works best on wide panels, you know the ones. They reduce installation time by half because each panel is twice as wide as the old style of panel.

3:00PM
Flashing Finesse
– Square penetrations:  Learn how to properly flash square penetrations with a vertical seam metal roof system.  Square penetrations could be skylights, chimneys, or other large penetrations through the roof. Dormer to main roof intersection:  Learn how to properly flash the various intersecting planes of a dormer in the main field of a roof with a standing seam metal roof panel.

4:00PM

Performance of Metal Roofing Sealants Based on Polymer Technolgy
With increased market demands for sustainable, energy efficient and longer lasting roofing materials, metal roofing contractors face challenges in providing customers with products that meet or exceed expectations.

5:00PM
Designing with Commercial/Industrial Insulated Metal Wall Panels Paul Collyer, VP of IMP Business Development - This course will help you better understand the characteristics that best describe commercial/industrial insulated metal panels (IMPs), along with the design options available for these panels. In addition, you will be able to recognize factors affecting panel spans, and the relationship of these factors to structural supports. Finally, you will learn how IMPs provide all necessary air, water, vapor and thermal control layers through a single component.

Designing with Insulated Metal Roof Panels
Paul Collyer, VP of IMP Business Development - This course focuses on design considerations when using insulated metal roof panels. Panel characteristics, paint finishes and roof geometry  options are reviewed. Support structure requirements (ex: purlins, joists, decking) including steel alignment/tolerances, panel spans and roof diaphragm considerations are studied. Functional aspects including environmental control layers (air, vapor, water and thermal) are examined.
