Maribeth Rizzuto, a LEED® Accredited Professional with Building Design and Construction Specialty, is responsible for the infrastructure development to enable the widespread, practical application of cold-formed steel framing in residential and commercial construction. This involves developing educational programming for design professionals and the construction trades, expansion of construction insurance programs and promoting the benefits of cold-formed steel in the development of new codes and standards.
Since 1998, Rizzuto has conducted information and education training seminars, providing the latest information on advancements in construction applications, tools, fasteners, codes and sustainability. The seminars have been conducted for the AIA, ASCE, CSI, ICC, National Association of Home Builders and various construction related organizations for continuing education credits. She currently serves on the consensus committee of the National Green Building Standard (ICC-700). She has been an active participant in defending and protecting the inclusion of cold-formed steel framing during the deliberations and hearings for the development of the International Green Building Code (IgCC), ASTM – E60 Standards, Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), and ASHRAE 189.1.
