Good morning everyone! That’s right we have another edition of Magnificent Metal Mondays upon us. Today we travel to a place that many of you may have attended yesterday, yes church of course. Today’s feature is the Basilica of San Sebastian that is located in
Manila, Philippines. This large church is unique because it is the only one of it’s kind made from prefabricated steel in the world. San Sebastian church is also the only steel church on the continent of Asia. The church was built in 1891 using the Gothic revival style. The entire church was produced in Belgium. While in Belgium it was produced in pre-fabricated sections and shipped on boats to Manila. Another cool little fact is that Gustave Eiffel, yes the designed of the Eiffel Tower, was involved in the design and construction of San Sebastian’s Church.
