So I have been meaning to write about this for quite a while now. I wanted to discuss why I don’t see a lot of metal roofs here in the Boston area and why it isn’t as prevalent as it is in other parts of the United States. Let’s start with my one assumption
being that most of the contractors in the New England area don’t like working with metal. Is that a correct assumption? Or maybe they don’t know how to work with metal? In the past I always thought it was because metal roofs were an eye sore. I will say I don’t feel that way anymore, I’ve seen metal roofs that look a whole lot better than an asphalt or shingle roof. I’ve seen roofs that are more efficient economically, better for the environment, and have integrated photovoltaic cells in a manner that it looks aesthetically pleasing. So why do I continue to feel like manufacturers or contractors are ignoring the northeast market in terms of metal roofs?
I want to address this to the manufacturers and find out what kind of marketing they do in the northeast to attract contractors to using metal on their jobs. I can’t help but think that if more education was done from the manufacturer and distributor level then I would see more of these roofs. It appears to me that a certain geographical territory is being ignored for whatever reason. I want to know why and who you are??? I want all perspectives on this. I think it is extremely important!
