I saw this story this morning and while I believe this isn’t for the faint of heart, I do believe we need to discuss this in further detail. In terms of work site safety and materials being used, we as a society need to do a better job in securing construction that is occurring
at many of these sites. Take the example of this story where a young 17 year old woman in India falls off a roof into three metal rods on another building that is under construction. Yes you heard right, a 17 year old fell off a roof into three metal rods that were sticking out of a reinforced concrete pillar. Now what’s amazing is that all three metal rods missed vital organs. So I guess I am wondering a few things about this story, why on earth was a 17 year old on the roof of another building? Second, why did she fall and what exactly was she doing? I guess there isn’t much anyone could have done in terms of safety at the job site unless you build a structure above the job site, which isn’t happening. It is quite possible she was a construction worker right? From looking at the photo below I wouldn’t think so based on the clothing she is wearing.
