MAGNIFICENT Keynote Speaker has just confirmed for METALCON 2018! NFL Superstar, Steve Smith, will speak on Thursday, October 11 from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm. A five-time Pro Bowler and three-time All-Pro, Mr. Smith is considered one of the NFL’s most productive wide receivers of the 21st century! Mr. Smith spent the majority of his 16-year NFL career with the Carolina Panthers until signing with the Ravens in March 2014. He was the Panthers’ all-time leader in total touchdowns, reception, and receiving yards and in 2011, became the 35th player in NFL history to amass 10,000 receiving yards. Since retirement, Smith dedicates his time to his charitable work along with being a sports analyst for the NFL Network. In 2013, Steve and his wife, Angie, founded the Steve Smith Family Foundation, which champions for families affected by domestic violence and promotes child health and wellness. Since its inception, the foundation’s efforts have provided children from the Safe Alliance Domestic Violence Shelter the opportunity to attend summer camps. In November 2016, Smith pledged over $350,000 to establish the Smith Family Wellness Center in collaboration with Project 658.
In addition to having Mr. Smith as a Keynote speaker, METALCON is thrilled to announce that it has selected the Steve Smith Family Foundation as its “give back” organization for 2018. All fundraising efforts at this year’s show will go to Mr. Smith’s Foundation. Photo opportunities with Mr. Smith along with a $25 entry in a raffle for an autographed football will be part of the fundraising efforts at The Deck.
With the show’s revamped design, now called the Total Experience, Steve Smith’s Keynote will be included with your registration and take place in the main theatre on the Show Floor.
