Metal Construction News announced MBCEA’s Building of the Year Awards for 2019 in their July issue. Top honors went to the BARNES Buildings and Management Group based in Weymouth, MA, for their Boston MedFlight Hangar 12A project. The awards were announced at MBCEA’s Annual Meeting that took place in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina May 2-4.

Awards were given in the following categories: Educational and Recreation, Manufacturing, Re-Roof/Renovations/Additions and Specialty. The projects recognized included: Solano County Vocational Training Center in Fairfield, California, the RLS Freezer Building in Delanco, New Jersey, Four Winds Shopping Plaza in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, the Tulsa Expo Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the Atlanta Braves Spring Training Clubhouse Facility in North Port, Florida, Beyond Self Storage in Rochester Hills, Michigan, and One Particular Harbor Marina in Bradenton, Florida (shout out to all “Parrot Heads” – yes, this was inspired by Jimmy Buffet’s song!).
