As Women in Construction Week continues, we look at ConstructionDive‘s “Construction Champions:” The industry’s top female leaders

After asking readers for details about the female leaders who are making a significant impact in construction, support and admiration poured in from colleagues, friends and family members, ConstructionDive received nearly 800 nominations highlighting exceptional women from across the country who are changing construction for the better. Out of the submissions, 59 women were highlighted in the article as shining examples of how female-driven intuition, dedication and intelligence are shaping the industry.

The 59 female “Construction Champions” were separated into five categories including: Rising Stars, Up-and-Coming Leaders, Tradeswoman Leaders, Mentors, and Industry Veterans. Click HERE for the full lists.

While women still only make up about 10% of the construction workforce, more females join the industry as superintendents, project managers, department directors, CEOs and trades workers every year. In 2021, women in construction are not only working to build some of the country’s largest and most important projects, they also are leaders in another important area: helping to recruit more women into the industry. Many women in construction act as mentors, teachers and advocates to help elevate the industry and make it an attractive career option for other women.
