Keynotes

Keynote speakers for this year’s show include Keith Colburn, star of the Discovery Channel’s hit show Deadliest Catch and captain of the Alaska King Crab fishing boat, Wizard, along with Ken Simonson, chief economist of the Associated General Contractors of America.

Colburn will share his insights on leadership, teamwork, safety and being successful in today’s hyper-competitive business environment by providing parallels between his life as a captain and the high stress, highly competitive construction industry.

 U.S. Construction Outlook: Pandemic Impacts, Policy Initiatives, Project Implications Thursday, Oct. 7 at 10.00 a.m.

Simonson has 40+ years of experience analyzing, advocating and communicating about economic and tax issues and currently serves as liaison to the Census Bureau’s Construction Data Modernization Working Group. He is a Fellow and past president of the National Association for Business Economics, and co-director of the Tax Economists Forum in which he co-founded.

Super Sessions

Super Sessions are designed to address many of the major issues facing the construction industry today including post-covid strategic planning, the ownership transition process, material, supply chain and labor woes, and growth opportunities to get on your radar. These sessions will take place each day of the show in the main theatre and most qualify for continuing education credits. Attendees can maximize their METALCON experience and earn valuable CEU’s without ever leaving the showfloor! This years’ education sessions are organized into 6 tracks, each with its own icon to assist attendees with navigation.

The Total Experience attendees can earn up to 15 ICC Continuing Education Credits (CEUs), 15 AIA Learning Units (LU), including up 5 LU HSW’s. Certificates can be provided for all other Continuing Education bodies.

Workshops

In addition to the sessions listed above, IIBEC, the MCA, the MBCEA and others will be offering in-depth, skill-building and life-saving workshops will also be offered. These include: Metal Roof Installation Training, Metal-Focus Safety Training, Roll Forming for the Metal Construction Industry, Understanding Metal Roofing, Business Practice, Wind Mitigation Methodologies, IMP Roofs, Guidelines for Temporary Bracing, and more.

Workshops are at an additional cost, however, the price includes the Total Experience and Exhibit Hall Registration. Plan accordingly as some of these workshops will begin one day before the show begins on Tuesday, October 5.
