Sustainability and Solar Education at METALCON 2021

(Newton, Mass., – Sept. 14, 2021) METALCON, the only global event dedicated exclusively to the application of metal in design and construction, announces its partnership with the Florida Green Building Coalition (FGBC) to engage the state’s A/E/C community in numerous sustainability and solar education programs at the Tampa Convention Center from Oct. 6–8, with pre-show workshops beginning on Oct. 5.

FGBC is a Florida nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the building environment and is the leading certifier of green commercial and residential construction projects, land developments and local governments with 26,000+ projects in the state since it was founded in 2000. Its mission is to provide a statewide green building program that defines, promotes and encourages sustainable efforts with environmental and economic benefits. 

Contractors, architects, specifiers, developers, owners, fabricators, manufacturers and suppliers are invited to learn more about the benefits and sustainability of metal building components in construction from metal roofing to the building envelope. Attendees can stop by the show’s new Solar Education Center to meet representatives of the FGBC and participate in a variety of programs. The special pavilion on the show floor is being sponsored by S-5!, an industry leader in metal roof attachments and solar racking systems, and will feature a demo and learning center area.
