Coming to you from on-site at the Tampa Convention Center where the first day of METALCON 2021 began bright and early with eager attendees lining up to register while others took advantage of training workshops. Delivering his keynote address to a packed theater, Captain Keith Colburn, leadership expert and start of the TV series, “The Deadliest Catch” shared his insights on leadership, teamwork, safety and his personal stories of success.

Celebrating 30 Years!
Once the session concluded, the 31st METALCON Exhibit Hall officially opened and attendees set off to meet with exhibitors, network, and learn about the latest innovations in metal construction. Attendees also took advantage of credit-earning education sessions throughout the day and enjoyed visiting the new specialty pavilions offering immersive experiences in Solar, Insulated Metal Panels, and CONTECH. Rounding out the day, attendees enjoyed a free beer during Oktoberfest as they met with sponsoring exhibitors, some played Trivia Games at the Solar Education Center with sponsor S-5!, and two lucky attendees scored prizes in the day’s raffle drawings. Congratulations to Marco Perez for winning $250 in the Innovation Station Scavenger Hunt and to Jorge Ramos for winning the autographed Fishing Rod and Reel for making a donation in METALCON’s “Give Back” program.

There were several METALCON “firsts” today including the kick off of The Architect’s Experience, recognition of the first-ever METALCON Top Products, and the announcement of the winners of the inaugural Metal in Architecture Gallery and Contest.
