Who are the women working to shape the commercial construction industry?
Construction Dive is seeking nominations through February 11 to highlight the industry’s leading women in all sectors during this year’s Women in Construction Week coming up March 6 to 12.
While some gains have been made in recent years, women still only account for less than 11% of people working in construction. Considering that women make up 47% of all employed individuals, this means that the construction industry is only benefitting from about 1.25% of women in the workforce. As new construction industry jobs are expected to balloon by almost 2 million in 2022, companies are looking to recruit more women than ever before to bring their skill sets into the field.*
Make your voice be heard and nominate yourself or a colleague in categories including Rising Stars (under the age of 30), Up-and-Coming Leader (over the age of 30) Mentors, Industry Veteran (more than 25 years experience in the industry), Tradeswomen, and others. Nominees selected by a panel of editors will receive a mention in the Construction Dive newsletter and on their website during Women in Construction Week.
Fill out the short survey and provide thorough information about your nominee in a short essay. Repeat entries from last year’s call for entries will be accepted.
Deadline for this call for nominations is February 11.
Check out last year’s Construction Champions series when Construction Dive spotlighted dozens of the industry’s top female leaders, selected from over 800 reader nominations.
