METALCON is dedicated to making 2021 the safest event you attend all year.

While we continue to work with the city of Tampa and the State of Florida to adjust and anticipate the health safety guidelines for October 2021, our partnering venues have made significant changes to address and mitigate the current pandemic.  Here is what they will be implementing:

Tampa Convention Center:

Obtained the Global Biorisk Advisory Council Star, or GBAC Star.  The GBAC star is the cleaning industry’s highest standard and is given out by the ISSA, the world leading cleaning industry association.  Cleaning standards for the GBAC Star include but are not limited to: establishing and maintaining a cleaning, disinfection, and infectious disease prevention program to minimize risks associated with infectious agents like the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) and Highly informed cleaning professionals who are trained for outbreak infectious disease preparation and response.

Marriott (Including Westin):

Commitment to Clean:

The Marriott Commitment to Clean encompasses sanitization and cleaning of surface areas and public spaces, limited guest contact, and increased food safety.  For all guest rooms, Marriott cleans all in-room surfaces with hospital-grade disinfectants, and each room will also have disinfectant wipes placed in them for personal use.

Hilton (Including Embassy Suites):

Hilton has implemented a program throughout all their properties called “CleanStay” including hospital-grade sanitization of high-touch surfaces in all hotel common areas, and mask requirements when in indoor public areas, and increased contactless food delivery systems.  Guest rooms are fully cleaned and sanitized using Lysol brand products and the rooms are inspected prior to being sealed by a cleaning manager.
