Aluminum Coil Anodizing for Architectural Designs
Aluminum Coil Anodizing for Architectural Designs

Coil Anodized Aluminum has helped architects, specifiers, and designers provide unique finishes to their clients projects for many years. Coil anodized aluminum offers a corrosion resistant surface that is not a coating and will never chip, flake or peel; does not contain any hazardous materials, and has an infinite selection of colors and finishes.

In this session, professionals will learn about the coil anodizing process, the unique properties of the aluminum oxide layer, and how this finished aluminum can be applied to a variety of architectural applications.

Learning Objectives:

  • Explain the basics of aluminum anodizing, types of anodizing processes, and show that the aluminum oxide layer formed is safe for food and human contact
  • Describe the differences between coil and batch anodizing; explain how the chemicals used in the anodizing process do not contain hazardous materials such as heavy metals, and that the process waste can be treated for reuse
  • List and describe the advantages and disadvantages of coil and batch anodized aluminum
  • Compare coil anodized aluminum with other metals and coatings used for architectural applications without the use of any halogens or volatile organic compounds
  • Learn about product applications using coil anodized aluminum for both exterior and interior uses and how the ‘natural’ reflective properties can minimize heat absorption for cool roof and composite wall panel designs
  • Discover that coil anodized aluminum and it’s processing does not have any detrimental impacts on our health and environment

This session is FREE to attend and located in the Technical Know-how Learning Center inside the Expo Hall. Availability is on a first-come, first-serve basis, and space is limited.
