Description

Business Envelope & Metal in Architecture

Sun, sand, water and fun are synonymous with Florida. Unfortunately, wind, tropical storms and hurricanes are too. Florida’s building codes are extremely stringent, and they must be to protect the structure and its inhabitants. It’s important to keep a building’s roof intact. Once the roof goes, the rest of the building is likely to follow. Wind speeds change over time. ASCE 07-16 was established to ensure buildings are constructed to resist wind; it looks at historical data and revises codes as necessary.

Discover the science of wind uplift; how it is changing. Learn how the changes are impacting codes and roof material choices. Learn about testing and specification techniques for metal
roof options and accessories to improve wind uplift resistance, providing a safer building at a lower cost.
